West Suburban Water Polo Club USWP Club #1615 Mission Statement The mission of WSWPC is to provide an opportunity for each athlete to achieve their highest level of personal performance on the local, regional or national levels. The Club shall provide first-class coaches capable of developing the individual's life skills while teaching water polo, sportsmanship and a sense of passion and respect for the game. About WSWPC The club is registered as an Illinois and Federal not-for-profit organization. The Board of Directors include: Mark Menis, President Peter Shamburek Martin Bell Joan Katz Lisa Nervig Bob and Kristen Bridgman Tax exempt donations are always accepted for the continued development of area water polo players and coaches. Tournaments and Training The club primarily trains at the area High School pools located throught Naperville, IL. In the summer months, the Club is the only team in the Chicagoland area that hosts practices in an all deep, outdoor, 30 meter facility located in downtown Naperville at Centennial Beach. The club focuses on the development and competitions for all age levels including: Master Senior Open, 18, 16, 14, 12 & Under Men and Women athletes. West Suburban competes in local, regional and national tournaments and schedules individual matches throughout the year. West Suburban is a sponsor of the NSSWPL age group water polo league and has partnered with the Naperville Park District to provide additional age group water polo programming opportunities. Club Accomplishment Highlights Numerous athletes have qualified for the USWP & MWZ Olympic Development Program's Training and Travel Teams as selected for Regional and National Championships. Congratulations to the following athletes selected ODP Regional Championships on May 28 - 31, 2010 in Florida and Utah. Mark Menis, Kyle Rickert, Julia Campbell and Danijela Jackovich. Athletes have earned College Scholarship Awards at Division I Programs. Numerous High School athletes have been named USWP Academic All-Americans with GPA's over 3.6. HS and Age Group Athletes have been selected for the National Christmas Development and Position Camps at the USOC Olympic Trainng Center, Colorado Springs, CO.
